Online recruitment Statistics
The internet is becoming more and more popular with over 700 million
people online globally* and 13.9 million (57%) of households in Great
Britain now having internet access**. An estimated 2.9 million more people
now have internet access at home compared with 2002 figures.** With the
massive increase in internet usage job seekers are now using the internet
as their preferred method for finding teaching
jobs. In a recent NORAS survey of 18,724 online jobseekers 45% used
the internet to find a job with only 23% using a newspaper.***
Employers have been keen to take advantage of the growth of online
recruitment with 70% of employers using Job Boards to generate their
applicants. Employers found that the primary advantages of recruiting online
rather than traditional methods were cost saving, speed and
effectiveness.****
